Vancouver Canucks forward Bo Horvat (53) celebrates scoring against San Jose Sharks goaltender Alex Stalock (not pictured) during the third period at Rogers Arena.

The Vancouver Canucks have assigned centre Bo Horvat to the Utica Comets of the American Hockey League on a conditioning assignment.

Horvat, 19, had one goal in five pre-season games with the Canucks. Last season he appeared in 54 games for the OHL London Knights collecting a career-high 74 points (30 goals, 44 assists) and 36 penalty minutes.

The six-foot-one, 216-pound centre was originally selected by Vancouver ninth overall in the 2013 NHL draft.
