Adam SvenssonBernard Brault

Adam Svensson climbed six spots into the top 50 in the world amateur rankings following his latest victory. The Surrey, B.C. golfer wasted little time in adding to his collegiate win total by taking the Guy Harvey Invitational, the first event of the fall season for Barry University, the No. 1 ranked team in Division II. Svensson's 9-under total tied a tournament record and his second round 64 was the second-best total of his career. The win, which moved him up to No. 46 in the world, was his eighth career collegiate title.

Some significant performances outside the top 10 including Alistair Docherty, who climbed 78 spots after a runner-up finish at the InterWest Wildcat Classic. The Saint John, N.B. golfer was leading heading into the final round and posted the second best score of the day, only to miss his first collegiate victory by three strokes. It was his second top-10 finish in as many tournament and the 13th straight top-20 result of his collegiate career.

Francis Berthiaume of Valleyfield, Que. moved into the top 20 in Canada, climbing 282 spots in the world rankings, following his second place finish at the Skyhawk Classic. The sophomore at Alabama State has a win and two runner-up finishes in the last three tournaments. Fellow Canadian and teammate Branson Ferrier of Barrie, Ont. climbed 145 spots after a tie for fifth at the same event. The sophomore led all players in par four scoring while earning all-tournament honours as Alabama State finished off its fall schedule by winning for the fourth time in five events.

Jack Wood of Banff, Alta. led all three days on the way to his first collegiate victory at the Cavalier Classic as the UBC Thunderbirds swept both the individual and team titles. After moving into the top 20 last week in the Canadian rankings, Woods climbed to No. 18 and has gained 196 spots in the world rankings over the last three weeks.

Another first time winner saw Nicklaus Kennedy of London, Ont. take medallist honours at the UNG Fall Invitational. The junior at Division II Carson-Newman made four pars on four consecutive extra holes to win the tournament and earn male athlete of the week honours as well. The victory also marked Kennedy's debut in the world amateur golf rankings.

On the women's side, Augusta James has overtaken Soo-Bin Kim for the No. 2 ranking in Canada. James finished tied for 21st at the Tar Heel Invitational while also finishing tied for 10th at the LPGA Stage II Qualifying tournament, sending her to the final stage in December.

Kim won the fog shortened Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational for the second time in her collegiate career. The Coquitlam, B.C. golfer was the only player under par for the week and the only player to score in the 60s. It was her fourth collegiate victory, which equals the all-time record at the University of Washington. Kim also advanced to the final stage of LPGA Q-School in December.

Fellow teammate Jennifer Yang finished runner-up to Kim, picking up 53 spots in the world rankings making her the biggest mover of the week among the top 10.

Megan Osland of Kelowna, B.C. moved into the top 10 this week. She finished tied for 27th at Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, after coming off win at her last tournament.

Outside the top 10, Jenna Hague finished in a tie for fourth at TPC River's Bend Bearcat Cup after the final round was cancelled due to unplayable conditions. It was her first top-10 result of the fall season.

Leilanie Kim picked up her fourth straight top-15 result, finishing tied for 11th at the New Mexico State Aggie Invitational. That resulted in a 39 place gain for the senior at Idaho.

University of Victoria rookie Brianna Carrels tasted victory for the first time, winning the Concordia Classic by two strokes. The Lethbridge, Alta. golfer made her debut in the world rankings as a result of the victory.
