The multibillionaire entrepreneur, who owns 29 radio stations in Western Canada, explains why he still thinks radio is king "I went into radio in 1965 when I got a licence for CJOR 600 AM. It was my second business. Radio had been very good to me as a car dealer. It's flexible and it's fast—you can get on the air in an hour and change your message—and compared to other types of media, it's very good value. It's not capital intensive like television, and it's not cyclical like some businesses. Some seasons are better than others, and there's more competition than there used to be, but by and large it's a pretty good cash generator. We'd buy more stations if the opportunity presented itself."
