A man has died from a hit-and-run on St. Clair Avenue after he was temporarily revived at hospital, Toronto police say.

The 31-year-old was struck by a vehicle near Mondovi Gate just before 5 a.m. Saturday morning and the vehicle fled the scene. When emergency medical services arrived on scene, the victim did not have vital signs but was later revived at hospital.

"When they got him to the hospital and they hooked him up, he had no pulse at one point but he was brought back," said Constable Hugh Smith with the traffic services division. Police say the man has now died.

Police are looking for a silver or grey minivan and will release a photo of the suspected vehicle later in the day.
