A 23-year-old American man has been sentenced to seven months in jail for his involvement in the G20 riots in Toronto.
Richard Dean Morano, of Lackawaxen, Pa., is one of five Americans arrested in the aftermath of the violence in June, 2010.
Morano had admitted to being part of the "black bloc," as well as to smashing windows and throwing a stone at a police car.
Two other G20 riot suspects – Kevin Chianella, of Queens, N.Y., and Joel Bitar, of New York – are expected to appear in court next week.
Dozens of protesters, many wearing disguises, went on a rampage through downtown Toronto during the international summit.
More than 1,100 people were taken into custody that weekend in one of the largest mass arrests in Canadian history. Most were released without charges, but more than 40 people have been successfully prosecuted.
