New Brunswick's new Liberal government has delivered its first Throne Speech opening a new session of the provincial legislature.

The speech is essentially a condensed version of the Liberal campaign platform, with an emphasis on job creation and getting the province's finances in order.

It also promises to re-evaluate the forestry and prescription drug plans introduced by the previous Tory government.

The speech makes no mention of a moratorium on shale gas fracking, though Premier Brian Gallant said earlier this week that legislation to bring in such a moratorium will be introduced in this session.

The government is also promising to reinstate a home energy retrofit program and provide tax breaks to seniors for renovations to help them stay in their homes longer.
