A Toronto man is now charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of a woman on a Calgary street.

Natasha Mohamed Farah was hit by a stray bullet last month as she stood outside a nightclub.

Police say the 26-year-old woman, who moved to Calgary from from Toronto about a year ago, was an inncocent bystander.

Hussein Ibrahim, who is 21, was originally charged with recklessly discharging a firearm.

Calgary police upgraded the charge Monday.

He is to appear in court Friday.
