The RCMP has revealed its decision not to pursue further disciplinary action against a female Mountie who said her superior sexually assaulted her.

A statement posted on the B.C. RCMP's website says the decision in the case of Constable Susan Gastaldo was made over a year ago, but details only came to light this week.

An internal review board disciplined Const. Gastaldo and Staff Sergeant Travis Pearson in 2012 for what was characterized as a consensual relationship, though Const. Gastaldo claimed she was sexually assaulted by Staff-Sgt. Pearson.

Const. Gastaldo appealed the board's ruling, and the decision was overturned in 2013 by RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson.
