With Halloween approaching, most of us will head to a store to buy costumes off the rack, for ourselves or our children. Not Steph Peterson. The Utah-based seamstress and costume designer has been declared the winner of Halloween in the past with her elaborate costumes, and it looks like she'll be holding on to the title in 2014.

Peterson, a mother of two, just unveiled the costumes she made for her family this year, with the group going out as characters from Little Shop of Horrors.

"One day, I hope to grow up to be your family" one commenter said.

In past years, the Petersons have gone out as characters from Beetlejuice and Labyrinth, always becoming online sensations, because really, who isn't jealous of these costumes?

Peterson told the Salt Lake City Tribune last year that her Halloween obsession started in 2006. She made a Corpse Bride dress that was a hit. "Halloween is always a bit crazy around my house, but making my family into rockstars a few days every year is the most fun thing I could do," she told the newspaper.

Edward Scissorhands might not be the most practical character to dress up as (how do you hold the bag or reach out for candy without poking someone?) but every parent who sees Peterson's handiwork will feel guilty for phoning it in with some off-the-rack getup.

If you're feeling overly guilty, you can always buy the Beetlejuice costumes Peterson made for her family in 2012. She's selling them on her Etsy page for $3,364.66. The Labyrinth costumes are there, too, for the same amount.

Or maybe just take inspiration from the family that pretty much everyone agrees "could have the greatest Halloween costumes ever" and instead of shopping for costumes, unleash your creativity and make your own. It's Halloween. What better time to let your inner kid run wild?
