When London-based designer Roksanda Ilincic cited the work of artist Jessica Stockholder as inspiration for this season’s collection, she set the stage for a fractured fall, but in a good way! Known for her energetic juxtaposition of colours and materials, Stockholder may have influenced Ilincic directly, but, in fact, could be regarded as the fairy godmother of the current wider penchant for pieced-together design. Heavyweights from Alexander Wang to Burberry have embraced the look, which also extends to furnishings and housewares. The best part: no assembly required (at least by you).
