Honda Indy Toronto is moving to June 12-14 next year from the traditional July dates, as the Pan American Games will be using the Canadian National Exhibition grounds where the race is held.
IndyCar had inspected Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, located north of Bowmanville, Ont., as an alternative site for the 2015 event but elected to maintain the street race.
Toronto's event, which follows the Montreal Grand Prix by one week, is one of 17 IndyCar races scheduled for 2015. The calendar released Thursday includes new events in suburban New Orleans and in Brazil, where the season opener will be staged at the Nelso Piquet International Autodrome on March 8. Those events replace the two dropped in Houston.
There's one fewer race than last season, essentially because Toronto will host a single rather than the usual doubleheader.
"Having a presence outside of the U.S. is important for the health of the series," Andretti Autosport team owner Michael Andretti said.
The calendar includes six oval and six road courses, plus four on street circuits set up temporarily. The final race will be held on a road course in Sonoma, Calif., on Aug. 30.
