DRAMA: The L.A. Complex (MuchMusic, 9 p.m.) Welcome to Los Angeles, where stars are made and dreams are dashed. Back tonight for a second season, this Canadian-made series follows several young hopefuls desperately trying to break into the L.A. showbiz scene. The fact they all live in the same apartment complex naturally leads to backstabbing and sleepovers and other dramatic developments. Once again, the one to watch is Cassie Steele as the aspiring actress Abby; her fellow players include the struggling comedian Nick (Joe Dinicol) and the troubled dancer Alicia (Chelan Simmons). New to the cast this season is TV veteran Alan Thicke – hey, remember Growing Pains? – as a vainglorious producer named Donald. As before, The L.A. Complex rarely rises above its low budget or soap-opera trappings, but if you’re still missing Melrose Place, this is the show for you.
